Starting Over

Behold! I Make All Things New

No matter how much evil and suffering we see or encounter in this world - God's promise stands true: He will make all things new. There will be a new heaven and a new earth. A new city where God dwells, and we will dwell with him. A garden in which is the Tree of Life of the healing of the nations. There are some very good things coming! Will you be ready? Broken, flawed, and sin-ridden people will not inherit this new Kingdom Jesus is building. In His word, "You must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God."

How do you get to know God?

I asked this question of the elderly lady who was leading a Bible study for men in jail. She told me to get a Bible and start reading. I started in Matthew, the first book of the New Testament. By the time I got to John, I realized something was changing in me. The Jesus I was reading about became real to me. He changed my attitude. He started changing me from the inside out.

I was 22 years old. My life was a mess. Little by little, God began to make a new person out of me. He's still doing that 43 years later! He'll do the same for you.

God loves you right now, right where you are. If you give your life to Him, He will make a new creation out of you and set your life on a new course. Whatever your chains are: pride, addictions, anger, self-absorption - he will break your chains.

Where do I begin?

Everyone's journey is different, but knowing God starts in the same way for all - with a simple prayer. If you invite God into your life - He will respond.

Talk to God and ask Him to change the things in you that displease Him. (This is called "repentance.") - He will respond.

Ask Him to make Himself real to you - He will respond.

Ask him to guide you and connect you with people on the same journey as you - He will respond.

"I make all things new" - Jesus

The Bible is full of examples of people who started life over with God. Abram was a pagan idol worshipper. God revealed Himself to Abram and, through Abram, set things in motion that still impact the world today! Moses was a murderer who became a liberator and one whom God called His friend. Zacchaeus was a wealthy tax collector who found a new life in Christ.

Rich, poor, young, old, male, female - all must encounter the living God. You can start a new life, too. Your life is a God story.
